The only reason it's in my Library is that my brother duped me into buying one □.Īgree RT implementation isn't perfect in most games right now. Its a wise idea to hold off from buying this game. That's why I have been holding off with this game so far. The problem is that the PC Hogwarts Legacy port is (mildly put) a horrible effort by the devs so random crashing wouldn't have surprised me either. Witcher 3 and Elden Ring have a similar problem if I remember correctly. RT is implemented into every game nowadays because it is "expected" but often the devs have no idea what they are doing. Just played it without that setting on and what do you know? No crashing. I might want to do another playthrough, so I hope it gets fixed.įor reference: Ryzen 9 series CPU with 32GB RAM, Nvidia 3070Ti (8GB). I've completed the main quest & sidequests, most of the collections, but am stuck on the last 3 conjurations. I have a feeling the developers may have started using part of the driver API that was buggy on earlier releases. On a subsequent startup, the shader compilation screen had returned to business as usual and so far so good. I left it and suddenly, unexpectedly the game burst into life. On restarting the game, it stalled at the shader compilation screen and the green bar only moved a smiidgen and then stopped. After the patch, a dialog box appeared requesting I install the latest NVIDIA driver (which was the February Studio version), so after making a windows checkpoint, I installed the requested driver version. Previously all was fine at Medium Settings (I have a 3070Ti with 8GB VRAM). The update resulted in graphical glitches and a crash.
